I have come to think there is something monumentally large afoot. I do not believe it is simply a banking crisis or a mortgage crisis or a credit crisis. A perfect storm may be brewing, one that has been evolving for years. The pace has quickened in the past two. We have elected a man no one really knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen let alone a town. His associations & alliances with radicals & everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not scary. Have you heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now.
This man campaigned on bringing people together. Obama will divide us, push us apart and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. When it comes, you will never see the same nation again.
I thought I would never experience what ordinary, moral German must have felt in the mid-1930s. Their "savior" was a smooth-talking rabble-rouser about whom the average German knew nothing. What they should have known was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved & pushed around people with whom they disagreed. He edged his way onto the political stage with great oratory.
There were promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, & he was a great speaker. People, newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear his "brown shirts" would bully & beat them. He was elected to office while an economic crisis bloomed - the Depression. Slowly he seized the controls of power. Children joined Youth Movements where they were taught what to think. Later, required to do so. No Jews of course,
How did he get people on his side? He promised jobs to the jobless, money to the money-less & rewards to the military-industrial complex, indoctrinated children, advocated gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs & promised to re-instill pride in his country across Europe & the world. All with a compliant media. He did this in the name of justice & change.
Many people of conscience objected in 1933, were shouted down, called names, laughed at & ridiculed. Winston Churchill, who pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords, was booed, called a troublemaker.
Germany was the most educated, the most cultured country in Europe full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories & universities. In less than six years (a shorter time span than two presidential terms) it was rounding up citizens, killing others, abrogating laws, turning children against parents, neighbors against neighbors. As a practical thinker I have a choice: I can believe what history is shouting to me from across the chasm of seven decades or I can hope I am wrong. I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am. Perhaps the only hope is our vote in the next elections. DK
Obama must have known about the provisions in the Health Care Bill HB3200. Yet he said nothing, raised no objections. Anyone should see lost credibility by this transparency failure. I wouldn't trust him or any of the Dems in Congress to pass ANY legislation of ANY kind. It would probably be written by their Acorn cohorts & likely be, as usual, unread with something slipped in at the last minute of which we wouldn't approve. Lew

His intelligence is the clue to an analysis. The areas of concern that weren't addressed, details left out, the right marching orders not given to Congress. He would have had my interest and attention for an hour-long speech had he included them.

"Stick it in your eye, Glen Beck. I'll show you," says our farsighted President. And we got PETA-man for a Regulatory Czar. How-to-kill an industry? Get beef, pork & chicken imported from other countires at ever higher prices? Simple. Appoint an animal-rights PETA-man as regulatory Czar.
Thank God for Beck, his show & Fox. He got Van Jones' resignation. We can hope & pray for the same with Lloyd.
Then what? Obama replaces them & the Czars go marching on.
Van Jones had been replaced with the Auto Czar picking up the reins. Are we any better off?
A "token resignation" to take our attention away from the real issue: an underground government, termites at work doing what?
The Sec of Education said the first Obama "Lesson Plan" was a "mistake". There was no mistake.
We're seeing two steps forward, one step back in the march toward Socialism with an Obama figurehead. He waves the baton. We watch & listen to his music. The crowd applauds while the termites eat the fabric of our Constitution.
I still see this image of Chavez handing Obama his book. What was that all about? "Hey, buddy, welcome to the club"? "Here's a musical score for you"? Or passing on orders from above right out in the open? What?
Why is this disturbing? The deafening silence from the Oval Office, perhaps occupied by just another of their Czars. You know, the one we "elected", so proudly marching at the head of the band, waving his baton while the crowd cheered.
And in the Locker Room? THE GAME PLAN.
The sad part? The showpiece bandleader really thinks he's running the show. The red, white & blue bunting flags are waving. He gets the crowd marching in step to the tune.
The stands empty.
The GAME is played with no one watching. Guess which side wins?
Wish I could say I was looking forward to Wednsdays speech. It'll be more of the same sing-along. The crowd will cheer. A "Health Reform Bill" will pass. There'll be a major power shift to Washington (that's what it's really all about) and a Civilian Militia will be keeping "order" in the countryside headed by a benign Militia Czar (probably a doctor).

Hello Lew, "Change" was granted to "shoe bomber" Reid at the high security prison in Colorado. Now Reid will have prayer services each day with the other terrorists so they can plot the next bombings. "S"
"S": I hate to think that my imagination is just "running wild" but placating Muslims, serving the extemists behind the scenes, may be part of Obama's "peace with the Muslims" agenda. If so, this is just one small pebble on the beach. The "final solution" may be serving up Israel to the Jew hating Muslims. There's already talk of allowing Iran to proceed with developing a nuclear weapon. Why? Put yourself in the shoes of our President, taking into account previous personal life experiences with ties to Muslims. Look at the Muslim map VS. Israli map. Can you see a way to "peace"? At whose expense?
No one can fault an operating philosphy that serves the "greater good", can they? Again, I ask, "At whose expense?"
Obama is now in the "maelstrom" of the presidency without the 20 years' seasoning he should have had before gaining the office. The one faint hope I have is love for his family. Are those roots enough to save him and us from the future and the legacy he THINKS he's creating for them and us? They'll have to be strong roots to withstand the million pinpricks of pressure he's receiving from his "do good" constituents and Acorn advisors on a daily basis.
Leap forward 4 years after the "changes" made possible by Obamian naivetee. Enter the radical right (the pendulum swings) holding a bushel basket full of his envisioned changes. Who will then find themselves under the thumb of a committee or bureaucrat?
I've received a lot political e-mails with a plea to Wake Up!. It's the minorities who had better come to grips. The helping hand of God In Our Government with the "changes" taking place could provide the tools for their destruction at the hands of those waiting patiently in the wings, rubbing their hands with glee, ready to give them a "heavenly assist"! (You aren't hearing protests from them about the "changes", are you?)
That's why our President, his Admisistration and our Congress needs to lead, govern and legislate from the Center. Does if he realize his campaign promise to be President for all Americans had an import far beyond any other commitment? Lew
Here's an idea for "change": Revise the Oath of Office to include "and while in the performance of my duties I swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth, so help me God." (Re: Blagojevich, the former Illinois governor who tried to sell Obama's seat in congress. Obama was asked by the press if he had ever met Gov. Blagojevich.)
MY RESPONSE TO A CRITIQUE FROM A WELL-INTENTIONED AMERICAN (see below):
Be assured your points did not fall on deaf ears. You are quite correct about things taken out of context. It is a dirty game, not one I wish to play. I would not do so intentionally and I believe you understood that. Do you watch Fox? Did you see the clip where Obama is being interviewed on a talk radio show saying the Republicans are blocking health care reform trying for a repeat of the 1993-94 elections where they swept back into a majority with the Contract For America? Did you see the slight smirk to his lips, the "almost" smile as he said it? He knew what he was doing. And whether of not it was a blatant lie is not the point. For a smart man, our President, who campaigned on "working together", alienates every honest Republican with such tactics (lie or not) along with every other honest, thinking American no matter their party affiliation. I would hope you are among them.
Too much misinformation goes around that no one checks out and I've been guilty of this as well. My answer to most of it is to sublimate, sublimate, sublimate! Look beyond, behind, underneath and through. Did Obama lie? Do politicians lie? "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!" My answer to the entire question, however questionable the source, is to amend the Oath of Office to include, "I swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth while conducting the affairs & duties of this office." Why is it a good idea? Perjury is a punishable offense, one that can be used to remove even Presidents from Office.
It's time for the American people to carry the "big stick". I offered this as a means to that end. Isn't it time we stopped "picking lint"? Figuring out the seeds of misinformation & doing something about it, as I believe I did, is where we need to focus our minds. Maybe then we can find some sensible solutions. Who knows? We might even get a President to listen.

From JD: If you are going to quote someone they should have said it. If you are going to paraphrase, you can do so. Either way, you should be able to cite your sources, building evidence. What this email insinuates is disingenuous because meeting with someone doesn't necessarily imply much of anything except that they spoke with one another on multiple occasions, as has any member of the Republican party with Nancy Pelosi (not buddies). I enjoy reading these emails. I like to know folks are thinking. Thanks. JD
JD, I actually saw Obama make the disclaimer when a reporter asked him about Blago. Obama definitely said something distancing himself from Blago along the lines of "I hardly know him". And my point is still well taken about the Oath to Tell the Truth. I simply used this occasion to point out the deficiency when our pols are sworn in. Whatever Obama did or did not say is actually immaterial to the greater picture.
